Em Sauter
Based in New England, Em is the founder and cartoonist behind Pints and Panels, a website dedicated to visual beer education. She is an Advanced Cicerone, author of two beer books, and an international beer judge.
N.C. Stevens
N.C. became interested in the folkways of drinking after living in Madagascar. He has written about a range of drinks, including herbal tea, coffee, beer and the more obscure spirits of the world. His work has appeared in Atlas Obscura, Wine Enthusiast, Slate.com and his self-curated website, DrinkingFolk.com.

Dr. Nicola Nice is best known for her work as a sociologist and as the founder of the Pomp & Whimsy gin company. Now her debut book, The Cocktail Parlor: How Women Brought the Cocktail Home, explores the untold social history of women and cocktails.

John is a semi-retired bartender turned drinks and hospitality expert who spends most of his time writing about drinks, including two cocktail books, Drink What You Want and Saved by the Bellini. When not writing, he consults for private clients and hangs out with his husband and two cats.
Marisa Finetti
Specializing in Italian wine, you’ve seen her stories in Decanter and Wine Enthusiast. Marisa is also the creator and author of Marisa’s Wine Doodles, which showcases wine’s refreshing and amusing sensations and personalities.
Rashaun Hall
Rashaun is a “recovering music critic” who turned his focus to hospitality as an homage to his late father, a bartender. He’s written for Food Network, Foodbeast, The Alcohol Professor and The Whiskey Lifestyle.
John Holl
For more than 20 years, John Holl has been covering the beer industry as a reporter and editor. In 2019, he was “enthroned” by the Knights of The Brewer’s Fork of Belgium, descendants of the ancient brewer’s guild.
Leslie Merinoff Kwasnieski
The distiller and cofounder at Matchbook Distilling Co. in Greenport, NY, Leslie is best known for crafting unique wines and spirits. Venturing beyond the distillery, she makes her debut as a writer in this issue.

Vidhya is an illustrator and letterer. She specializes in bright and dense line-based drawings. Her work has appeared in magazines, books, newspapers, packaging, and beyond. She is inspired by travel, old cartoons, pizza shops, vintage signage, New York City and people watching.

Taylor Tinkham
Taylor is an illustrator based in Minneapolis. She specializes in vibrant editorial illustrations, often featuring animals, food or nature. When she’s not drawing, you can find her in the kitchen, the garden or in the woods with her dog, Cricket.
Aleksandar Zecevic
Aleksandar, or Aleks, is a Serbian American journalist and wine critic. He currently covers Austria, Germany, and Alsace for Wine Enthusiast, and frequently writes about natural wine and off the beaten path regions and drinks.
Yoko Baum
Originally from Japan, Yoko is a freelance illustrator living in Portland, Oregon. She previously worked in the children’s book industry, and today focuses on editorial and advertising projects, especially those around food, drink and nature.
Amanda Breeze
Amanda is a cannabis reporter and co-host of The Smoking Spot Podcast. Her work focuses on documenting international cannabis culture and exploring new smells. This year, she launched the first Cannabis Aroma Wheel with Scentelligence.

A writer and editor with a taste for wine, Sarah has pruned vines in New York’s Hudson Valley, been a cellar rat in California’s Napa Valley and stomped around vineyards in the Rhône Valley. Currently, she’s the Buyer at Artisan Wine Shop in Beacon, New York.

Catherine is the founder of Planet Grape® LLC, providing content, reviews, corporate tastings and speaking services. Her latest book is Ten Grapes to Know: The Ten & Done Wine Guide.
J’nai Gaither
J’nai is currently the Sonoma Correspondent for Decanter, though she always has a glass of Champagne in hand. She was recently knighted by the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne for contributions to the world of wine and Champagne.
Anna Lee C. Iijima
Anna Lee is a Japanese and American journalist and wine critic. She covers the Rhône region for Tim Atkin MW, and writes frequently about wine, saké, food and travel for Decanter, the Chicago Tribune and other publications.
Anne Krebiehl, MW
Anne, German-born but London-based, is a widely published freelance wine writer, lecturer and judge, and the editor for Alsace, Austria and Germany for Vinous Media. She loves high-acid wines and her work often focuses on Pinot Noir, Riesling and traditional-method sparkling wines.
Corinn Marriott
Corinn is a freelance illustrator and nature enthusiast based in the Finger Lakes region of NY. Her style is naturalistic, detailed, and vivacious. In her spare time, Corinn can be found hiking, discussing the color theory of various plants, and wine tasting.

David is an Advanced Cicerone© and a North American Guild of Beer Writers member. He hosts Bean to Barstool, a podcast looking at the intersections of craft beer and craft chocolate. He lives near Dayton, Ohio, with his wife, daughter and irritable cat.

Cristie is a wine educator and sommelier, creator of “the Online Wine Course for Beginners” and cofounder/president of the United Sommeliers Foundation, which has provided over one million dollars in financial assistance for wine professionals in crisis. She currently directs the wine program of Delilah at the Wynn Las Vegas.

Kerin is the founder of kerinokeefe.com, a site dedicated to Italian wine. She is also the author of Brunello di Montalcino: Understanding and Appreciating One of Italy’s Greatest Wines and Barolo and Barbaresco: The King and Queen of Italian Wine.
Maroulla Paul
Maroulla has been a writer all of her life and an oenophile for most of it. When not disappearing down the WSET, Capstone and other such rabbit holes, she combines her love of words and wines.
